A new website from Dubai to the West Indies

Urlings Cricket Club is a village cricket club in Antigua that has fantastic spirit, great youth talent and coaches with a wealth of experience. What they don’t have are the basic facilities to nurture this natural talent through from the grass roots to the national level.

A few months ago we told the story of how Kat Byles, a British resident and supporter of the Urlings Cricket Club, worked with digital designer George Williams to create a team emblem.

Kat has now connected through Pimp My Cause with James Bacarro, a marketing and multimedia specialist based in Dubai, who has just finished creating a website for the team.

You can visit their new website at http://www.urlingscc.com

The new website will be used to share club news to engage new players, supporters and fans. And it will help Kat in her efforts to raise funds to build a new club house for the team, which will provide home and away changing rooms, toilets, a bar which will also generate consistent revenue for the club, a meeting room, trophy cabinet and storage space.

When asked about working on this project James said, "Working with Kat Byles on this project has been a pleasure. She was clear about what she wanted to have for the site so it resulted in easy and comfortable communication. I’m glad to be a part of the Urlings Cricket Club’s journey”.

And Kat said, “We have loved working with James. He’s great to work with, generous with his time, made it all very simple, quick and easy making sure we had just the right format for the website needed. There’s a great platform there now to build on and share content from a village cricket club in Antigua and to invite people visiting the Caribbean Island to come and watch and support. I love that James is in Dubai, Urlings Cricket Club in Antigua and I’m in the UK, so it’s been a real international effort and commitment to grass roots cricket talent in the West Indies”

Kat said, "I've been lucky to be a part of grass roots sports around the world for many years and Urlings CC has the magic.

"The younger children are the first to arrive and last to leave and practice non-stop often with no shoes, no pads, just raw talent. They have cricket in their hearts. We want more of this wonderful spirit on the global sporting stage."
